Wangat Lodge

Our lodge provides unique and affordable accommodation for larger family and friend groups. Set amongst the trees of our beautiful rainforest, a stay at Wangat Lodge will give your group time and space to properly connect and create memories away from the hustle and bustle of busy life. Many groups have been coming to Wangat Lodge for years (some more than 20!) - to them Wangat is their home away from home and a place they love. We'd love it to be yours too!

Sleeping up to 46 with a generous dining/recreation hall, large and fully equipped commercial kitchen and outside communal areas. At Wangat you can explore the forest and the wild banks of the spectacular Chichester River or head further afield on a guided walk to discover Jerusalem Creek and it's wonderful waterfalls and pools or to the great strangling fig tree! Cool off in the Summer heat in one of our beautiful, big swimming holes or keep cosy in the Winter beside the fire. Search for the native wildlife; from the cheeky possums, abundant birdlife and noisy frogs to the shy wallabies, stealthy goanas and elusive platypi. We're all looking forward to welcoming you to Wangat!

The lodge is also a rare, inexpensive venue for weddings and retreats, conferences and workshops.

Amenities/Inclusions

Your PRIVATE SPACE: If your party has hired the Lodge for your group, all facilities/amenities below are private for your group only. Wangat has 4 buildings that can be hired together or independently, and we ask that guests only use their own hired building and immediate surrounds, and respect the others both physically and sound wise. ALL GUESTS have access to the beautiful 50 acres of forest, trails and river!

Bunk style accommodation for up to 46 people (10 rooms).

Rooms are spacious. Very clean & tidy. Very simple. A light, ceiling fan, and either 2, 4 or 6 beds in each (CLICK HERE for LODGE LAYOUT)

Bedding: Comfy single beds. Doonahs, blankets + pillows provided (guests are required to supply their own linen - sheets, pillow slip and towel)

Fully equipped commercial kitchen with 6-burner hob/oven, 2 large fridges, 1 standard fridge/freezer, 1 bar freezer, 8-slice toaster, microwave, hot water urn, Pots/Pans/hand-utensils to cook for big groups, Crockery & Cutlery for up to 60ppl, 3 large French-Press style coffee makers,

Large communal area with dining tables, couches, wood burner, table tennis, and library of natural history and adventure books.

2 Guided walks included as part of all weekend Lodge bookings. Saturday and Sunday mornings. Please contact us to discuss guiding enquiries for midweek bookings.

YOU GET the entire Lodge with 10 rooms, and 46 beds and all its breathtaking outdoor facilities…not to mention the endless trails and swimming holes on the secluded 50 acre forest property. PLUS 2 incredible guided walks for your group - to absolute hidden gems, only accessible by Wangat Guests on guided walks. All your fire wood is provided. This is one of THE MOST UNIQUE group accommodation set ups in Australia - being GENUINELY an eco lodge, with heaps of wildlife and the home of your guide and custodian - Dan Lyons, so you will feel like you are in another WORLD, hosted warmly, and part of a legacy creating memories forever for you, your family and friends!

Minimum 2-night stay though we will consider last minute 1-night bookings subject to a 25% surcharge.
